Central Alberta Photographer | Soulful Adventure Elopement Vision by KW Visual Stories: Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park

There’s a certain kind of couple who thrives in the in-between, the whisper of the trees and the golden spill of light, between a warm cup of coffee and the taste of champagne at dusk.

If you’re whimsical at heart, a little ethereal in spirit, soulful in the way you love, or drawn to the thrill of adventure… this Cypress Hills elopement vision was created for you.

The Location — Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park

Tucked on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is a place where time feels slower. Pines climb toward the sky, wildflowers spill over meadows, and hidden trails lead you to views that look like they’ve been kept just for you.

It’s the kind of landscape that invites you to breathe deeper, linger longer, and fall in love with the idea of escaping here; just the two of you, far from everything else.

Your Day, Unfolded

8am–9am | Morning Connection Hour

The day begins quietly at your Airbnb. The windows pour in soft morning light, catching the steam curling up from your coffee. You curl into each other in the sitting area, maybe reading, maybe just listening to the hush of the morning. I preserve these everyday moments, because they’re the ones you’ll want to remember just as much as the vows.

9am–2pm | Your Time Together

This is your space to move as you wish. A slow walk down pine-needled trails, a stop at a tucked-away café I’ve found just for you, or simply staying wrapped in the warmth of your Airbnb all day. No rush. No rules. Just you, together.

2pm–3pm | Prep & Details

The air shifts with anticipation. Your attire is laid out, vows written on thick, textured paper. I photograph the little things; the wildflower bouquet, the ribbon draped across linen, the way you look at each other as the day starts to take shape.

3pm–5pm | Travel & First Look

The crunch of the trail under your boots, the filtered forest light dancing across your shoulders. We hike toward the first look location — the moment where you see each other for the first time, framed by the stillness of the hills.

5pm–6:30pm | Mid-Hike Picnic Dinner

Tucked away in a cooler, your picnic awaits; champagne chilling, artisan bread, fruit, and cheese, all ready to be savoured. Laughter floats into the evening air as the sun dips lower.

6:30pm–8:30pm | Hike to Ceremony Location

The trail winds on, carrying the buzz of anticipation. Every step takes you closer to the place where your vows will meet the horizon.

8:30pm–9:15pm | Golden Hour Vows

The sky turns honeyed gold. You speak your vows while the hills rise behind you, your words carried by the breeze. This is the kind of light that makes everything feel like it’s part of a dream.

9:15pm–9:45pm | Blue Hour Celebration

As twilight deepens, candles flicker against the cool blue of the sky. Glasses clink. The world feels hushed again, just like the morning; except now you’re married.

The Experience

An elopement like this is about more than just the photographs. It’s about the way the day feels; how your fingers lace together in the quiet moments, the way the air smells of pine and lavender, the sound of laughter echoing across the hills.

My role? To preserve both the grand and the quiet, the moments that will matter to you decades from now.

Your Private Invitation

Spots for this experience are intentionally limited. Because this isn’t just another booking; it’s a day crafted for couples who see beauty in the stillness, who value presence over performance.

If this feels like it was written for you, I’d love to talk about making it yours.

Join the waitlist, and when the time comes, you’ll be the first to know.
